SINBAD Datasets
Short standardised datasets (S.IN.B.A.D.s)
This page is currently still under construction. If you would like to help its creation or improvement please register as a wisdam initiative co-worker.
For the present some comments are included here but in time there will be hyperlinks to a full analysis of each data item as suggested in the SINBADs chapter of the Electronic Encyclopaedia of Perinatal Data.
S.IN.B.A.D. = a Short INter-program Bundle of Associated Data
Why?
1. To encourage standardisation of groups of data recorded or printed on the first few pages of the proposed individually held paper personal wisdam folder.
2. To allow the standardisation of groups of data items used to create personalised sticky labels
3. To standardise the detailed data content of a whole set of personalised QR codes.
- Standardisation will then:
- a) Facilitate the printing of QR squares on the main pages of all wisdam casenotes
- b) Encourage many different health and social care systems to use an App on a smart phone to read small groups of data and add data to their different databases without having to do any data re-entry. Remembering the crucial slogan Every Extra Keystroke Costs (Ref)
- c) By this means encourage the international standardisation of the same small sets of data. Once such standardisation has been agreed then these same sinbads can be universally used to transfer electronic data from one database directly electronically to another.
Major Advantage
Standardising groups of long term data will save hours of staff and lay time asking the same semi-permanent questions
a) every time a new paper proforma is completed
b) every time the same semi-permanent data needs to entered into yet another incompatible computer system.
Standard or Optional Data Items
Items without brackets are normally part of the dataset used for every sticky label sinbad or QR code. Items in square brackets are optional and each individual must be the person who decides whether they should or should not be included in any particular sticky label or QR code.
Personal Sinbad
A10.. Family Name (Individual)
A11. First Name (Individual)
A12 Likes to be called (Individual)
A13 Maiden Name (Individual)
A14. [Full set of Initials] (Individual)
Comments: Never for automatically printing out or distributing but is useful as a security check since often the full name may only be known to the individual themselves e.g. Until the last series only Inspector Morse himself knew what his middle initial stood for.
A15. Date of Birth (Individual)
Comment: Always DD/MM/YYYY -Allowing Age to be calculated and printed whenever needed. More and more people are living to be over 100 years old so the full year is essential to distinguish Age: 3 from Age 103.
